Uploading
Is the service free?
Yes - Users can upload as much music as they wish, all for free
Are there any rules?
Yes - you must read and agree to the terms before uploading
Only upload music (accepted file extensions - .mp3 .wav .flac .ogg .m4a .wma) All other file extensions will be deleted without notification
How Should I name files?
When naming your mixes please try to use the following format - Dj Name - Location/Radio/Club etc - Date (ie Beatplexity - BeatplexityRadio -dd.mm.year). Or if users recognise the name of your mixes feel free to name them like that as well (ie The Bass Sessions - dd.mm.year). Try and give as much information as possible for both 'Name' and 'Artist' fields. It will help users find your mix when they are searching.
My upload failed, what should i do?
Unfortunately sometimes uploads fail, this can be due to a problem with the users internet connection or the websites server connection. There isn't much we can do if an upload fails before finishing, you will just have to upload the mix again.
If you beilieve the upload failed due to the website please do not hesitate to let us know the error so we can try to fix it.
Downloading
Is the service free?
Yes - Users can download as much music as they wish, all for free.
When i download a mix it downloads as a .php file?
This bug should be fixed now but if you are still experiencing problems all you have to do is rename the .php of the filename to .mp3 (i.e. drumandbassmix.php todrumandbassmix.mp3)
General
Slow download and upload speeds, pages not responding etc?
Dont worry the site is not dead, your mixes and music are not lost. Due to high traffic periods throughout the day sometimes the server is unable to handle anymore requests. Just give it a minute or 2 and hit refresh and your page should come back. Want to help stop this?
How can i help Beatplexity?
There are many ways you can help Beatplexity, a list of a few ways is below.
1) Join our team of 'BeatUploaders'. New music is the best way to help the site. Recording your own mixes and putting them on here, and recording radio shows or events keeps the site at the top of peoples list for new music.
2) Donate money to help maintain and expand Beatplexity. Check out How to help us page for more info
3) Letting people know about the site. Include links in your forum signatures, post your mixes and others on all your local forums.
Why should i help?
You love music, like i do. I didnt create this website as a money making machine in mind. I want this to be the number one spot on the internet for people who want to listen to music. Money generated from this site wont go into my pocket, it will be spent to maintain and expand on my original idea.
What do you plan to do with the money generated?
First thing to do will be upgrading and expanding the servers that run Beatplexity More Hard Drive space to store all your lovely mixes, bigger data pipeline for the site. Faster upload and download speeds for everyone (got to be a good thing :)).
